Special: Flaming Elvis Dog January 6-8 Only!
You can't help falling in love with THIS hot dog! This Friday January 6, we kick off our weekend special - the Flaming Elvis Dog in celebration of what would be Elvis's 87th birthday! (Launching on the Anniversary of his infamous Ed Sullivan appearance, no less!)
As the story goes, Elvis and his bodyguards ate at the now-shuttered Colorado Mine Company post-concert one night - a sandwich called The Fool's Gold Loaf - made with a full loaf of sourdough, a pound of bacon, and a jar each of peanut butter and jelly. For years after, anytime he'd have a hankering, he and friends would hop a jet and the owners of the Colorado Mine Company would meet him on the tarmac with sandwiches for the King and his friends.
At home, he'd take two piece of bread, spread thick with creamy peanut butter, topped with sliced banana, add thick-cut bacon and fry it in the skillet. Our tribute to The King includes flambe rum butter bananas, bacon strip, and creamy peanut butter sauce on top of our smoked all-beef dog. Get it this weekend only!
